Building on a global infrastructure of data centers and networks, T-Systems operates information and communication technology (ICT) systems for multinational corporations and public sector institutions. With offices in over 20 countries and global delivery capability, the Deutsche Telekom subsidiary provides support to companies in all industries. Some 52,700 employees combine expertise with ICT innovations to add significant value to customers’ core business all over the world. The corporate customers unit generated revenue of around EUR 10 billion in the 2012 financial year.
T-Systems has consolidated its operating business into two areas: Sales is responsible for new business with corporations and public authorities, as well as all sales-related activities – from marketing to portfolio management. Delivery is responsible for delivery and service to existing customers. It encompasses all aspects of customer service – from technical consultancy to systems integration and infrastructure (IT and telecommunications).
This allows the company to focus on state-of-the-art technological trends. The ICT sector is currently undergoing changes that have a major impact on companies of every size and in every industry: cloud computing and the mobile solutions that build on them, along with big data combined with social media, are turning existing business models on their heads. These disruptive technologies make completely new demands on IT security – not least due to the exponential increase in cyber crime.
